Salary Scale: 115,000-140,000

About YNCSD:

The Youth Network for Community and Sustainable Development is a youth-led movement catalyzing social change by engaging young people on critical sexual and reproductive issues affecting them and amplifying their voices to speak for human rights through targeted advocacy to key players, capacity building and development, communications and media engagements, partnerships, and programme implementation. We also work on a broad range of issues, such as Gender, governance, and environment; however, our priority over the years has been on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights

Since its inception, YNCSD has been catalyzing efforts of young people towards ending Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and gender-based violence through effective programming that transforms social norms underpinning these practices as well as promoting reproductive health and rights for women and girls. Part of our activities is to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted and that women and girls have access to reproductive health services and are given the opportunity to exercise full agency over their bodies. We pride ourselves on being a leading youth-led organization delivering quality programmes and interventions for our donors and partners based in Nigeria and globally.

Position Overview:

YNCSD is currently looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Technical Assistant. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Senior Technical Officer to support our projects. Responsibilities will include monitoring and evaluation, business development, technical project delivery of assigned projects, and any other tasks as assigned by the Technical lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and impact assessment of our projects, as well as contributing to the organization’s growth through strategic business development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Develop and implement M&E frameworks and systems for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Design and conduct data collection, analysis, and reporting processes to measure project outcomes and impact.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate data collection, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Regularly assess and refine M&E strategies based on feedback and lessons learned.

  • Business Development:
  • Identify potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other donors.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality grant proposals and applications in collaboration with the program and finance teams.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential partners, collaborators, and opportunities for organizational growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential donors, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Update the Business development database with relevant opportunities 

  • Capacity Building:
  • Provide training and support to project teams on M&E methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Work closely with program staff to integrate M&E considerations into project planning, implementation, and reporting.
  • Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for staff involved in business development activities.

  • Coordination and Communication:
  • Liaise with project teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to facilitate the integration of M&E findings into program planning and decision-making.
  • Communicate regularly with the Senior Technical Officer and Business Development Manager to provide updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, workshops, and conferences related to M&E and business development.

  • Reporting and documentation:
  • Prepare comprehensive and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting project achievements, challenges, and impact.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of project activities, outputs, and outcomes for accountability and learning purposes.
  • Contribute to the development of case studies, success stories, and other materials for communication and fundraising purposes. 
  • Assist the Technical lead in any additional reporting and documentation tasks as required.

  • Technical Project Delivery
  • Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the Technical lead or project management team.
  • Assist project managers in planning, scheduling, and executing technical projects.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings and contribute to developing project plans and timelines.
  • Track project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and propose solutions for maintaining efficiency.
  • Manage project documentation, including budgets, timelines, and meeting minutes.
  • Conduct research and gather technical information as needed for project tasks
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to evolving project needs and priorities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Business Administration, Monitoring and Evaluation, Natural sciences etc.); Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, project management, and business development within the NGO sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and compelling reports and proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
