Introduction
The Youth Network for Community & Sustainable Development (YNCSD) is a pioneering youth-led organization committed to catalyzing social change by engaging young people in critical sexual and reproductive health issues. Our primary focus is on amplifying youth voices to advocate for Human Rights through strategic advocacy, capacity building, development communications, and partnerships, with a special emphasis on Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights. YNCSD is renowned for mobilizing youth to challenge Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and combat gender-based violence. Our commitment extends to transforming societal norms, advocating for reproductive rights, ensuring desired pregnancies, and providing comprehensive reproductive health services.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership in Impact-Driven Program Management and Implementation
Lead the Technical Team in executing high-impact technical programs, with a strong focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
Strategically assign projects to align with team capabilities and organizational goals, particularly within the SRHR movement in Nigeria.
Develop and implement outcome-focused strategies that align with the program’s objectives and respond to the expectations of our donors and partners.
Establish and maintain proactive relationships with community activists and stakeholders, ensuring programs are impact-oriented and responsive to community needs.
Maintain a commitment to structured documentation of impactful results and lessons learned to support knowledge retention and advocacy efforts.
Oversee project activities to ensure they align with strategic goals, optimizing resource utilization and measurable impact.
Integrate robust Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks into project delivery to assess impact and inform continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with financial and administrative protocols, collaborating closely with organizational leaders.
Lead in technical reporting, providing clear, actionable, and outcome-focused updates to donors and stakeholders.
Capacity Strengthening and Movement Building
Spearhead capacity-building initiatives, focusing on empowering communities to advocate for sexual and reproductive rights and measuring the impact of these efforts.
Design and implement tools to assess and address service gaps, particularly in SRH and safe abortion services, while embedding metrics for success.
Champion collaboration and knowledge exchange within YNCSD, identifying opportunities to strengthen YNCSD’s impact in the broader movement.
People Management
Lead a dynamic team, providing guidance and support to drive high-quality, outcome-driven program delivery.
Develop comprehensive reports for the board, highlighting progress, impact, and lessons from the technical portfolio of projects.
Foster a culture of mentorship, honest and constructive feedback, and professional growth among direct reports.
Regularly evaluate team performance, offering direct and respectful feedback, setting objectives, and aligning goals with measurable outcomes.
Address and resolve conflicts with transparent, growth-oriented communication that fosters a cohesive and supportive team environment.
Support team members in identifying career advancement opportunities that align with the organization’s impact goals.
Skills and Experiences
Required:
3-5 years of leadership experience in delivering technical, outcome-focused programs, with a significant focus on the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights movement in Nigeria.
Comprehensive knowledge of SRHR, with specific insights into related and applicable policies and practices.
Demonstrated project management skills with a history of successful multi-community initiatives and experience with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, proficient in articulating complex issues clearly and directly.
Robust technical writing and structured documentation skills to support transparency, impact measurement, and knowledge sharing.
Willingness to travel extensively.
Must be based in Abuja, possess emotional intelligence and resilience, and be staunchly pro-choice, aligning with our organizational values and mission in the safe abortion sector.
Highly Desired:
Experience in diverse and inclusive community engagement, particularly in contexts related to safe abortion, PUID, gender and sexual minority groups, FSWs.
Skills in facilitating meetings and direct, constructive feedback processes.
Application Details
Salary Range: 250,000 – 450,000 monthly, based on experience.
